As the butterflies do, the Winged King Reposado belongs to both countries: using Mexican tequila-making methods and some American wood, the brand produced a spirit equally mesmerizing as the butterflies that inspired it. This artisan tequila is made with 7-8 year old agave leaves that were hand-collected and slow-cooked for a minimum of 3 days in traditional steam ovens. After the cooking, the pinas are left to cool for 2-3 days before being mashed and distilled. The slow process assures the tequila retains all the natural agave flavor. The tequila is then left to mature in American oak barrels for 8 months before it is bottled in an impressive solid ceramic masterpiece with a heavyweight, all-metal statuette stopper.
