The growing season started early, as moderate conditions in July and August prompted the fruits’ steady development. By the end of August—thanks to several warm days—the grapes achieved the perfect aromatic and phenolic ripeness. Devoid of excess sugar, the fruit produced wine that was concentrated and deep, while also bright and fresh.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003ch3\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eVINIFICATION\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e \u003cp\u003eThe 2016 Puzzle is a blend of Bordeaux varieties sourced exclusively from 18 individual parcels at our Spring Mountain vineyard. Once harvested, the bunches were hand sorted and destemmed. The fruit was then placed in an optical sorter, so we could inspect and assess each individual berry. The must was fermented in separate lots, and barrel aged for 12 months.
