A century later it was bought by the Coopérative des Viticulteurs Charentais. In the 1970s the company's name was changed to Unicognac that currently operates under the first cooperative group in the Cognac region ― Ocealia. All of the bottling and packaging takes place at a state-of-the-art facility close to Jonzac.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nApproximately 500 Charentais winegrowers rely on Unicognac's swan-neck Charentais pot stills. The winegrowers supply the wines, Unicognac takes care of the distillation as well as aging in their vast cellars. In the end, the maître de chai blends the eaux-de-vie into premium expressions.
