EL TORO – 45 YO Amontillado Del Puerto Cask Rum

Officially classed as “Exceptionally Rare” (TTB- US), fewer than 1800 bottles of this award-winning rum exist per year in the world.

The production process of EL TORO from the House of AKAL is officially recognized by the Government of Trinidad & Tobago as the first innovation in rum production in the Caribbean region in over a century, setting a new milestone in the legacy of rum.

From the terroir of Trinidad, single cask reserve rums aged 8-10 years are hand selected by our “Rum Hall of Fame” Sommelier. These rums are then masterfully combined to create an exceptional blend once per year.

A second unique distillation production process then carefully combines fifteen aromatic tropical botanicals, including high altitude tea leaves, so that their aromatic perfume can be married to the master blend. We call the resulting exquisite rum, which is unique in the world, an “Eau du monde."

Aging is the final step. The ‘Eau du monde’ is taken from the warmth and humidity of Trinidad to the cool, wet, coast of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. It is here, that the rum is gently aged a further year in 45 year old Amontillado del Puerto Sherry Casks.
