About Batiste Rhum
In 2008, Batiste Rhum was founded by Tristan Mermin with Jon Lawson as COO – two spirit veterans with decades of industry know-how. Unlike most rums that are distilled from fermented molasses, all Batiste Rhum are rhum agricole, which means they're made from fresh pressed sugar cane juice. Fermentation of sugar cane juice is trickier as opposed to molasses, requiring multiple analyses per hour to ensure proper control.Batiste Rhum is the first and only single source and origin American Craft Rum using Rhum Agricole.

About Rum
Rum history allegedly started in the Carribiens in the 17th century when they started to ferment and distill molasses, a byproduct of sugar production. Most of the Rum is aged in oak or ex-wine casks, giving its color and flavor.
We distinguish between 4 different Rum categories, where white or unaged rum is mainly used in cocktails, while dark, spiced, and añejo (aged) rum are mostly enjoyed neat.
