About Bayou Reserve Rum
Â
This rum is a remarkable concoction that's as unique as it is delightful. Hand-crafted with passion in the heart of Louisiana, it's made from sugarcane molasses sourced directly from the fertile soils alongside the Mississippi River Delta. Can you believe it comes from the oldest operating American sugar mill since 1829? Now that's a sip of history! Made for bourbon lovers, this spirit features an exclusive maturation process – think no less than 4 years in wet ex-bourbon barrels. The result? Unmistakably rich bourbon undertones! The rum is distilled in an exceptional copper pot still system before it embarks on its journey through the Solera method, ensuring each bottle bursts with consistent flavor and unmatched smoothness. The tropical climate and bayou's humidity work their magic, nurturing a gentler aging process unique to Bayou. Expect an aroma of creamy vanilla with playful hints of apple and cinnamon. Take a sip and you're greeted by a robust dry oak character, a nod to aged bourbon, progressing into indulgent notes of cinnamon and maple. And the finale – a dry, lingering finish adorned with the subtle elegance of dried fruits and oak. The expression won several awards, including a Platinum Award at the 2023 edition of the "American Spirits Council of Tasting." And let's not forget the triple Gold Medals from renowned institutions!
