About Cooperstown Distillery
According to legend, the sport of baseball was invented in the pastures of Cooperstown, NY by American Civil War general Abner Doubleday — while many historians now consider this account to be a myth, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum was nonetheless established in Cooperstown, and the town has virtually become synonymous with the sport of baseball itself."Opening a micro-distillery in Cooperstown has been a dream in the making for quite a few years," states Gene Marra, founder of Cooperstown Distillery. Indeed, Marra has successfully married two of America’s greatest pastimes — baseball and distilling — in Cooperstown Distillery, which is a certified "farm distillery" sourcing and utilizing over 51% of New York State based agricultural products.
