About Fable Fairies 7 Year Old Chapter Eight Caol Ila Scotch Whisky
What does quality Scotch have in common with "the art of storytelling, animation, and illustration"? A lot, thanks to Fable Whisky, an independent Scottish bottler that was founded by industry veterans Andrew Torrance and Calum Lawrie. The team seeks out exceptional casks from some of the finest distilleries in Scotland, bottling them straight from the cask without chill-filtration as single-cask releases. In the meantime, writer Des Waddy and visual artist Hugo Cuellar provide re-tellings of Scottish folk tales and gorgeous illustrations to go with the releases. Chapter Eight: Fairies features whisky from the Caol Ila distillery on the Isle of Islay. Known for its burnt lemon and clean smoky taste profile, Fable's team carefully selects each cask to perfectly represent the distillery's style. This one spent 7 years in its hogshead (cask no. 303544) before being bottled in 2021 at 114.8 proof. You can expect the characteristic campfire smoke aromas, as well as sweet fruitiness and spice. The cask yielded a total of 304 bottles.Grab one of only 304 bottles of this Islay single malt today!
About Scotch
Scotch is the most popular whisky in the world and is considered the king of them all! There are five whisky regions in Scotland (six if you count the not officially recognized Islands), and each of them produces spirits with unique properties and distinct tasting notes. (The type of grain used determents the type of the scotch.)
Malt whisky is made of malted barley, and grain whisky uses other grains like corn or wheat. Most of the time, a whisky is blended from different distilleries hence the name blended scotch, but if a malt whisky is produced in a single distillery, we get something extraordinary called a single malt.
