Nestled in the Orkney archipelago of Northern Scotland, Highland Park Distillery has been a beacon of whisky craftsmanship since its founding in 1798. More than two centuries later, Highland Park continues to be one of the few distilleries in Scotland that hand-turns, malts, and peats its own barley. The locally sourced peat from Hobbister Moor, enriched by floral heather, burns hotter and cleaner than traditional peats, imparting a subtle smokiness to this unique whisky. This, combined with Orkney's temperate and moist climate, ensures a single malt with traditional malty flavors and a perfectly balanced complexity.
The Highland Park 18 Year Old, often regarded as one of the finest in the Scotch industry, is a testament to the distillery's legacy. F. Paul Pacult, the founder of the Spirit Journal, praised it as the epitome of perfect whisky, noting its seamless harmony and smoothness. This expression has not only won prestigious awards but has also been retired from competitions to honor its unmatched quality and has been named ‘The Best Spirit in the World’ three times.
