KAVALAN VINHO BARRIQUE CASK STRENGTH SINGLE MALT WHISKY S2B1

Kavalan Distillery has been pioneering the art of single malt whisky in Yilan County, Taiwan, since 2005. Kavalan sources the mineral-rich meltwaters of Snow Mountain and is aged in a unique combination of intense heat and humidity and sea and mountain breezes. All this combines to create the quality, smoothness, and fruity character for which Kavalan is known.

This Kavalan Vinho Barrique is fully matured in used American oak wine barrels that have been toasted and re-charred to bring out fruity vanilla notes from the wood into the whisky overlaid on a delicate background of complex fruitiness. It has a complex and multi-dimensional background of pepper, spice, dates, and other fruits, such as ripe melon and mango, together with kiwi and a delicate blend of bursting citrus fruits.

Kavalan is a beautifully distinctive single malt that is a must for an at-home bar. The flavors will stand out delightfully from any other single malt, representing the approach of this distillate produced in Taiwan. For our Topflight Series single barrel program, we wanted something that would stand alone all the more. Then, we were introduced to Vinho Barrique. The aromas greet you with a rich fusion of vanilla and caramelized sugars with dark chocolate on top. These notes continue through your first sip with the addition of ripe melon, mango, kiwi, and a burst of citrus fruits. Pepper is also present in the background, waiting to be noticed. The taste ends with clean and complex flavors embodying all that is best in the finest malt whiskies and enjoying a long finish. It is a memorable release from the first pour to finish, one we know you'll enjoy.
