About Penelope Architect Straight Bourbon Whiskey

In 2018 Mike Paladini and his wife Kerry had a daughter named Penelope. Their bourbon label was created in her honor. Founded with their close friend and Kerry's childhood neighbor Danny Polise, Polise and Paladini distill and age their products in Indiana at MGP using the expert blending and bottling assistance from Castle Rock in Kentucky with Speyside Cooperage providing high-quality American oak casks for finishing the spirits. This award-winning enterprise currently has two bourbons in their regular lineup, their flagship four-grain straight bourbon, and its barrel-strength counterpart.

Te Architect Series was launched in 2022 as a tribute to the art of precision blending. It's based on Penelope's signature four-grain mash bill of 75% corn, 15% wheat, 7% rye, and 3% malted barley. This core whiskey is a blend of 3 MGP bourbons. The expression was crafted in collaboration with Tonnelleries Radoux, a market leader that specializes in oak barrels.

Two styles of different French oak staves were used in the creation of this bourbon, the first being delicate, the second intense ― one with a high tannin content, the other with medium tannins. Bottled at 104 proof, Architect #1 is aged between 4 and 5 years and features a sweet, creamy, floral, fruity, and overall rich taste profile.
