Founded in 1998 by Daniel and partner Georges, DAOU began with Daniel's winemaking efforts in his rural San Diego garage and a one-acre vineyard of Cabernet Sauvignon. Over the years, they have evolved to produce transcendent wines that embody the purest expression of the DAOU Mountain's terroir. The Pessimist is a remarkable red blend composed of Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Syrah, and Grenache.
