RUSSELL'S RESERVE SINGLE RICKHOUSE, CAMP NELSON F
RUSSELL'S RESERVE SINGLE RICKHOUSE, CAMP NELSON F
Inspired by the unique conditions of the rickhouses at the Wild Turkey Distilling Co, the Russell Family proudly introduces the Single Rickhouse collection, featuring a limited release of liquid from a single rickhouse. This collection explores the often unsung contributions specific resting places have on a whiskey’s final character, celebrating varied nuances of whiskey aging across these different environments.
Russell’s Reserve Single Rickhouse is a unique bourbon, bottled from one single rickhouse, Camp Nelson F. Aged on the optimal center cut floors 4 and 5, bottled from a small batch of barrels at 117.6 barrel proof, and non-chill filtered, this rare bourbon delivers a full-bodied oakiness and intensity of flavors for which the aging site is known. The rickhouse featured in this second release, Camp Nelson F, was built in the 1940s and is still standing tall on the elevated terrain today, surrounded by the Kentucky River. The timber and tin clad rickhouse is known to yield barrels that have been able to “breathe” more than most, resulting in the release’s robust, oaky flavor.
