About Volcan De Mi Tierra X.A Reposado Tequila

Volcan De Mi Tierra X.A Reposado Tequila is an extra-aged tequila that was made using several parallel processes of tequila-making. A brand that is celebrating the Volcano that erupted 200.000 years ago to nourish the Jalisco region with grounds, capable of producing the finest tequilas in the world, is of course also celebrating every process of Tequila-making that is known to make a great tasting tequila. They use different cooking processes (both stone and brick ovens and an autoclave) to create a unique flavor profile and a very smooth texture to the tequila, and then blend three spirits that were aged for a different amount of time (a reposado aged for six months in virgin American oak casks, a 14-month-old añejo that’s a blend of European and American oak cask finishes and an extra añejo aged in American oak for three years), adding even more to the complexity of the spirit. Bottled at a pleasant ABV of 40%, this luxurious tequila simply must be enjoyed neat.

About Volcán De Mi Tierra

Volcan De Mi Tierra (the volcano of my land) was born of a volcano. It was 200 thousand years ago that the volcanic eruptions shaped the lowlands and created the terroir in which the blue agave thrives. This tequila is crafted at their distillery in Jalisco, Mexico with a unique recipe that carefully balances between traditional and modern approaches, the past and present.

It all starts with a blend of highland and lowland blue agaves, joining the unique terroirs of both regions. The agave take 3,250 days to reach maturity. Some traditions can't be broken. The agave hearts are harvested and baked in a mampostery oven, then milled using a tahona mill with a large volcanic stone — just as it was always done. The stone crushes the agaves, separating the juice from the fibers. Then the mosto is left to slowly ferment in wooden tanks.
