<p>Wente Vineyards Riva Ranch Vineyard Chardonnay is sourced exclusively from Wente Vineyards Riva Ranch Vineyard in Arroyo Seco, Monterey. Arroyo Seco, where we have been growing grapes since the 1960’s, is widely regarded as one of the best places in California to grow Chardonnay. The long, cool growing season with the deep gravelly soil ripen the Chardonnay perfectly which gives natural balance of sugar and acidity</p>

<p><strong>Tasting Notes</strong></p>

<p>Wente Vineyards Riva Ranch Vineyard Chardonnay opens with toasty oak aromatics, complemented by fruit notes from baked apple to freshly cut pineapple, melted caramel and toasted brioche on the palate. The mouthfeel is slightly viscous and supple yet full of youthful supporting acidity that opens up and evolves with each sip.</p>

<p><strong>Winemaking Notes</strong></p>

<p>90% barrel fermented in a combination of new and second use French and American oak. 10% is stainless steel fermented. Aged sur-lie for 6 months, where the wine underwent 100% malolactic fermentation.</p>
